CASA 212 – Chilie Military aircraft crashed over the sea with twenty one people onboard in this weekend. Authorities were clueless to figure out the exact location of the missed aircraft as it was disappeared from the Radars. Fortunately the iPhone carried by one of the passengers onboard now helped to locate the crash point. Thanks the Find My iPhone feature of Apple iPhones.

One of the passengers was carrying an iPhone installed with the said application. With the help of this application his relative located the place and passed the information to the authorities.

Find my iPhone is a free application  helps to locate iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch with your Apple ID. To locate a missed device , just login to the application through another device with your Apple ID and You will be able to see the location of the device on a map. Now you can remotely control the device like displaying a message, play a sound, wipe out all contacts, lock the phone etc. The only thing is to keep in mind that said application must by installed on the missing device also.
